Everything here is real, live data — no fabricated numbers. Fear & Greed comes from alternative.me's public sentiment index. Long/short lean and per-coin ratios come from Binance's public futures positioning data (all traders, top traders, and taker buy/sell volume). Open interest trend is a proxy for new leverage entering the market (rising OI) versus existing positions closing (falling OI) — it approximates new-money flow, it does not literally distinguish new buyers from old ones, which would require paid on-chain data. Funding rates are averaged across every exchange RektCalc tracks; rates above roughly 0.1%/8h (~110% APR) are flagged as crowded — historically a condition that precedes sharper squeezes when it unwinds. News is aggregated from CoinTelegraph and Decrypt RSS feeds and tagged by coin where a headline mentions it.
One page combining Fear and Greed, aggregate long/short positioning, open-interest trend, per-coin funding rates, and the latest crypto news headlines tagged by coin — all real data, refreshed every 30 minutes, no signup.
It is a proxy for new leverage entering the market versus existing positions closing — rising OI alongside rising price suggests new money opening positions. It approximates this; it does not literally distinguish new buyers from old ones.
Funding above roughly 0.1% per 8 hours (about 110% annualized) is considered crowded — leveraged longs are paying heavily to hold, historically a condition that precedes sharper squeezes when it unwinds.
