Perp exchanges (Binance, Bybit, OKX and others) don't use one flat maintenance margin β they use brackets that step up as your position notional grows. Scaling a winner up can silently bump you into a higher-margin tier where liquidation sits closer to entry, so adding to a position isn't always adding safety.
