Limit orders that sit in the book = maker (cheaper). Market orders and instant fills = taker (pricier). Most traders are 20–40% maker.

How to pay less in fees on any exchange
Use limit orders. Maker fees are 40–60% lower than taker. A limit 0.01% from mid-market often fills instantly but qualifies as maker.
Hold the exchange token. BNB, BIT, OKB or KCS typically cut taker fees by 10–25%. At small volume this adds up fast.
Watch the funding rate. On perpetuals, holding through an 8h funding window can cost more than the trade fee. Check live rates →
Batch your trades. Two $1k trades cost 2× the fee of one $2k trade. Fewer, larger trades improve the fee-to-position ratio.
Size from risk, not intuition. Oversized positions mean more notional, more fees, and larger losses if the stop hits. Use the position size calculator.
Rates are standard Tier-1 (no VIP) as of July 2026. Does not include funding rates, withdrawal fees, spread or slippage. Confirm on each exchange before making decisions.
